Marisa began her yoga journey in 2009 within the dynamic hot yoga scene in Calgary, Alberta. However, it was not until she relocated to St. John’s, Newfoundland, in 2011 that yoga became a fundamental aspect of her lifestyle and a means to connect with a vibrant community.
Over the past 15 years, Marisa has traveled extensively throughout Canada and internationally, consistently practicing yoga in both hot and non-heated studios. She has engaged with various styles of yoga, enhancing her understanding and appreciation of the discipline.
Becoming a yoga instructor has been a long-standing aspiration for Marisa, and now, with this opportunity in Whitehorse, Yukon she is excited to share her extensive knowledge and passion. Drawing from her years of experience, mentorship, and dedicated training, Marisa is committed to contributing to the community and inspiring others on their yoga journeys.
Join the Summit Yoga community and receive updates by signing up to the monthly newsletter, providing insights to the class schedule, workshops, community events, and blogs focused on yoga, wellness and holistic nutrition.
I would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. We honor the deep history, culture, and stewardship of the Indigenous Peoples of this land and recognize all those who call the Yukon home today. With gratitude, we commit to fostering a space of respect, connection, and community.
