Get cozy, roll out your mat near a wall in your own personal space, and join me for a 30 minute Wall Yin practice that ends with a 5 minute grounding meditation.
Make sure you have decent wifi or service to prevent buffering. Full sequence is also listed below.
*Note: I'm still trying to figure out the best lighting and ways to record at home practices. Might need to crank the volume up!
Feburary Wall Yin Practice
Start seated with gentle movements of the spine, shoulders and neck.
Come close to the wall with legs up for Caterpillar, hold 1-3 minutes.
Move into Wall Eye (Thread the Needle), leaving one leg extended while crossing the opposite over before bending the extended leg to 90 with foot pressed into the wall (might need to shift the body a bit back from the wall). Hold 1-3 minutes, slow transition out. Repeat on the oppposite side with Caterpillar rebound inbetween sides for 2 breaths.
Move into Straddle, opening legs wide with option of blocks or hands to support legs. Hold for 3-5 minutes. Bend the legs and use your hand to move legs inward. Come back to Caterpillar to rebound for 2 breaths.
Move away from the wall to twist to one side stacking legs on top of each other, feet are pressing into the wall, arms out to a "T" shape. Option to extend top leg and use the weight of the outside arm to hold that leg drawing it downward. Hold for 1-3 minutes each side. Move back into the center to rebound into Caterpillar once more for 2 breaths.
Shift your body away from the wall to lay down on your mat in Savasana. Stay for 10 breaths.
Draw your knees in, rock side to side, settling on the left side (yin side) for a moment before slowly coming back up to a seat.
Ground yourself sitting with a tall spine, relaxed shoulders and focusing on clearing your mind and using your breath as a guide for a 5 minute meditation.
Give yourself Gratitude for taking the time to practice and always be kind to yourself. I'll see you when I see you on the mat again soon! Namaste :)
