The Live4theRush Sled AST 1 course is built for riders who want to throttle up their avalanche awareness while keeping the stoke high and the risks low. Over the course you’ll learn how to identify avalanche terrain and understand slab avalanche mechanics, decode how changing weather affects snowpack stability, and get hands‑on practice with rescue gear while crafting a motorized rescue plan that works when seconds count. Just as important, you’ll sharpen your communication and ride etiquette so you can sled smart with your crew.
This course includes eight hours in the classroom, where theory and avalanche fundamentals are covered, followed by one full day in the field to put those lessons into practice. The classroom portion builds your understanding of terrain, snowpack, and rescue planning, while the field session gives you the chance to apply those skills hands‑on in real backcountry conditions.
Students should arrive prepared for a full day in the snow with proper winter attire and a mechanically sound snowmobile. Because this is a backcountry course, some off‑trail riding will be part of the experience, and riders are expected to have basic competence traveling off trail in mellow terrain. Be sure to pack snacks and hot beverages to stay fueled and comfortable outdoors. Please leave beers and alcoholic drinks at home, as this day is all about learning, safety, and building confidence in avalanche terrain. These takeaways ensure every snowmobile and snow bike rider leaves prepared to make informed, safe backcountry decisions.

The Live4theRush AST 1 Refresher is designed for riders who have already completed a full AST 1 course and want to sharpen their practical field skills. This one‑day program focuses on reinforcing the essential decision‑making and rescue techniques that keep sledders safe in avalanche terrain.
Participants will revisit key concepts in avalanche awareness and terrain recognition, then spend the majority of the day in the field applying those lessons through hands‑on practice. The emphasis is on refreshing rescue skills, fine‑tuning group communication, and building confidence in real backcountry conditions. To meet minimum student requirements, refresher participants may be grouped with another AST 1 cohort who have also completed the classroom portion, creating a dynamic learning environment that blends review with fresh perspectives.

This refresher ensures that past AST 1 graduates leave with renewed confidence, stronger rescue skills, and the ability to make informed, safe decisions in avalanche terrain.

Live4theRush builds community awareness and preparedness for safe backcountry travel in the Yukon. Through seasonal snowpack updates, public talks, and partnerships, we highlight avalanche concerns in our locals regions like White Pass and Haines Pass while empowering skiers, sledders, and families with practical safety knowledge and strategies for confident winter adventures.

This 60 minute balanced class blends energizing flow with deep, restorative stretching.
The first half of practice focuses on a steady Vinyasa sequence designed to warm the body, build strength, and improve mobility. Expect smooth transitions, breath‑linked movement, and accessible options for all levels.
The second half shifts into Yin. Long, supported floor poses target the hips, low back, and connective tissues, helping release tension and reset the nervous system. This portion is slow, grounding, and ideal for recovery.
Great for anyone looking for both active movement and deep relaxation in a single class.
